Body — Treatment

Shape,
not size.

A contouring tool, not a weight-loss method. Liposuction removes localised fat where diet and exercise cannot reach — the flank that won't shift, the inner thigh that holds on, the line under the chin. Done well, no one sees that it was done.

Liposuction — anatomical illustration

What it is & what it isn't

A refinement of contour, performed by aspirating localised fat through 4–5mm incisions hidden in natural skin folds. VASER ultrasound assistance is used selectively, where skin retraction matters more than volume removal.

What it isn't

Not weight loss — liposuction is measured in shape, not on the scale. Not a cellulite treatment. Not a permanent guarantee against weight gain. The cells we remove will not return, but the cells that remain can grow. The result lasts as long as the body around it stays in roughly the same place.

The practical detail

What you are actually committing to.

Procedure time
Typically 1–3 hours per area
Anaesthesia
Sedation or general
Stay in Antalya
Typically 3–5 days
Flying home
Typically 5–7 days
Light exercise
Typically 2 weeks
Full exercise
Typically 6 weeks
Final result
Typically 3–6 months
Scarring
4–5mm dots, hidden in skin folds
Permanence
Removed cells don't return; remaining cells can expand

These figures are typical ranges, for planning your trip. Your own treatment and recovery timeline is assessed and decided by Dr. Meral — at consultation, and again as your healing progresses.

How it unfolds

The consultation

Which areas, which technique, and — most importantly — what you are imagining versus what surgery can actually deliver. We show you in the mirror what we can change and, just as carefully, what we cannot.

The plan

Markings done with you standing. The areas to be reduced are mapped, and so are the areas to be left alone — your contour depends as much on what we don't touch.

The surgery

Tumescent solution (anaesthetic and adrenaline) infiltrated first. Cannula-based aspiration through 4–5mm access points. Where skin retraction is the priority, VASER ultrasound is used to emulsify the fat before aspiration.

The compression

Compression garment from the operating room — non-negotiable. The garment is the surgery's second half: it shapes how the tissues settle.

Recovery

Surprisingly mild compared to its reputation. Bruising for two to three weeks — sometimes dramatic in colour, always self-resolving. Soreness like an intense workout, for five to seven days. The compression garment is the most important post-operative tool — four to six weeks, day and night. Lymphatic drainage massage, starting day five, helps the tissues settle faster. The final contour reveals itself slowly. What you see at week two is not what you will see at month three.

A typical course, not a promise — healing differs from person to person. Dr. Meral reviews you at each follow-up and decides when each step is right for you.

This may be for you if

  • You have localised fat that doesn't respond to diet or exercise
  • Your skin elasticity is reasonable for your age, or you're combining with skin tightening
  • You're within 10kg of your target weight
  • You understand: you will look like you, with refined contours — not like someone else

This is not for you if

  • You want to lose weight — see your GP and a nutritionist, in that order
  • You have significantly loose or stretch-marked skin in the area — liposuction alone may make it worse
  • You expect cellulite to disappear — it may soften slightly; it will not vanish
  • You're still working on your overall weight — your result will change as your weight changes
  • You imagine 'one and done' — the result requires you to stay roughly where you are
